Fela is a musician beyond compare. He is the originator of Afro-Beat, and his vocals and saxophones lead his hand Egypt 80 through some of the most powerful African music ever heard. This LP was recorded before his imprisonment on dubious charges, and the tapes were re-mixed and overdubbed by Bill Laswell, with help from Aiyb Dieng, Bernie Worrell and Sly Dunbar.
